Rep Girls Teams - News Summer 2010
The U9 Lightning Girls competed in Georgetown July 17/18. The girls showed their championship pedigree by running the table during the round robin defeating Hamilton Sparta, Pickering Power, and the King City Royals. This set up for the championship game played on the Sunday against a formidable opponent in the form of the USC Phoenix. The girls fought hard in a tightly contested game with a huge amount of offensive pressure through the last 6 minutes, coming up just a goal short and losing 4 – 3. We are super proud of both our girls and coaches (George Filntissis, and Angelo Pasqualito) for achieving finalist status and finishing second out of nine in a tournament full of very strong reputable teams.
