U13 Boys All-Stars victorious in the Whitby All-Star Tournament!

On Saturday, September 26th, the U13 Boys All-Star Team came out victorious in the Whitby All-Star Tournament! The boys persevered through cold, rainy weather and injuries to win all 3 of their games.

Their first game was against Pickering - a team that had previously defeated Markham. Working with just 1 sub on the bench, the team pulled together and fought a hard battle to hold out for a 2-1 win. Game MVP was Domenic Reid.

Their second game was against a U12 team from Bradford. The team won decisively with many players contributing goals towards their second win. Game MVP was Nawaz Amiri.

Their third and last game was against rivals Unionville. This was also the deciding game for the tournament championship. Markham was in a must win situation as Unionville had a 1 goal advantage coming into the last game and a tie would earn them the championship. Markham opened up the scoring in the first half, but a late goal before the half put Markham down 2-1. Regardless, the team's belief, resilience, perseverance and hard work allowed them to push back hard and come out victorious for a 3-2 win! Game MVP was Vithun Kannathasan.

Congratulations to the entire team and to Coach Doug Ramsey and Asst Coach Mark Lundie who worked so diligently with the team over the season. It was an exciting and fitting end to a great season.

Thanks to all the boys who played this season - your hard work and dedication definitely paid off!
