MSC People - Jerry Kooymans Track Records Keep Falling! Jerry Kooymans has been an important part of keeping the MSC running for quite some time. As a House League Convenor, Director and All-Star Coach (and now as Scheduler) he has been giving it his all for many years now. Jerry's personal sport is track and he has been running and setting records for many years. As he gets to each new 5 year milestone, he has a whole new set of records to challenge. After he passed the 50 year milestone, he set new records for many middle distances. In 2009, he was the Ontario Masters Athletics Cross-Country Athlete of the year. Having now passed 55 he's at it again. Jerry just broke the Canadian 5000 meter record for the 55-59 age group (a record that stood since 2002). Congratulations Jerry and many more successes.
Tournaments U11 Boys go to the Final This Markham Lightning U11 Boys Black team coached by Ken Kloutsouniotis, Steve Savage and Pat Melino went all the way to the finals in the Aurora Tournament!
Tournaments Robbie Tournament The Club was well represented at the Robbie Tournament. In addition to the U15 Boys, the U18 Boys Black team, U12 Boys Black team and the U14 Boys Black team all participated in the tournament!! Congratulations to all!
Tournaments Darlington Success Stories
The U10 Boys Black team coached by Anthony Colangelo scored 21 goals in the Darlington tournament and were tournament finalists.
The U8 Boys Black team coached by Pat Melino and Dave Caruso, led the boys to the finals in the Darlington Tournament with their first four games undefeated!
Ontario Women's U21 Markham Dominates U21 League
On a sunny Sunday, July 25 at Centennial Park, the MSC U21 Women's team continued their domination of the Provincial U21 Women's league with a 7 - 0 win over S.S.M. Croatia. In the picture above, Markham's Olivia Lukasewich scored a nice goal from close in. The team is unbeaten in league play this season with 10 wins and 2 ties. They play their final game of the season on Tuesday against Glen Shields Sun Devils. The players will soon be going back to their University and College teams in the US and Canada. More
